The EFFC’s activities are organised into four Working Groups and three Task Groups;
Technical Working Group
The Group reviews European standards and discusses the technical execution of specialist geotechnical works for foundations.
The Technical Working Group also has two associated Task Groups;
- EFFC/DFI Concrete Task Group
The Group was formed in 2014 to address the issues that contractors experience on site with modern concrete mixes. - EFFC/DFI Support Fluids Task Group
The Support Fluid Task Group was established in 2017 to investigate the preparation, characteristics and testing of support fluids.
Sustainability Working Group
This is the newest Working Group to form out of the EFFC. Its focus is to improve levels of sustainability within the geotechnical industry.
The Sustainability Working Group has one associated Task Group:
- EFFC/DFI Carbon Calculator Task Group Working Group
This group developed a standardised tool called the Foundation CO2 Calculator which calculates the carbon footprint of deep foundation and ground improvement works. The Task Group was set up to build and promote the calculator. - EFFC-DFI Sustainability Guides Task Group – EFFC
Contracts Working Group
The Contracts Working Group looks at the commercial issues that are commonly experienced across Europe.
Health and Safety Working Group
The EFFC Health and Safety Working Group work to improve levels of health and safety during the execution of geotechnical and foundation works.
